Will Ohio State football center Luke Wypler play Saturday against Arkansas State?

COLUMBUS, Ohio – At least one key starter in Ohio State’s football offense is expected to return from injury Saturday against Arkansas State.

On his radio show Thursday, coach Ryan Day said third-year center Luke Wypler is expected to play. He was seen wearing a walking boot following OSU’s 21-10 victory over Notre Dame last Saturday.

“He’s had a good week, he’s been practicing, so we should be good there,” Day said. “We will continue to evaluate it.”

Wypler started all 13 games last season as a redshirt freshman. Earlier in the week, Day described the injury as “nothing long-term.”

Day did not provide an update on receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Julian Fleming. Both appeared to be practicing in some capacity on Wednesday. Day previously said that Smith-Njigba, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, could play on Saturday, but only if he is 100%. He also said Fleming came close to playing Notre Dame after being listed as a decision at the time of the game.
