‘Under Her Control’ (The Boss) Netflix Movie Review – Incontrovertibly Take Control of Your Thoughts!

Under his control is the Spanish thriller recently released on Netflix, which shows us the lives of two women, Beatriz and Sofía. Sofia, an opportunistic person, was looking forward to joining Beatriz’s company since she idolized her a lot. Beatriz was Sofia’s role model to be exact. The film shows us a series of events that lead to certain experiences that Sofía has to go through after Beatriz enters her life.

This Spanish film has a lot to offer its audience. The suspense film shows us how the exorbitant jealousy and the desire for power and control take a toll on the lives of these two women. Although the film has a dark setting, it cannot be classified as a dense plot as the plot is quite easy to follow.

Sofia, who was willing to restart her vocation with her dream idol’s mentor, realizes the true side of her boss when he starts working with her. Beatriz, her new boss who is a manipulative woman, tries to take control of Sofía’s life by making her believe in a web of lies that Beatriz invents. The film follows how Sofia figures out the situation and whether she is too late to back out or not.

The film has managed to offer a fair share of suspense with a couple of scenes that will capture the attention of viewers. The movie has a very solemn plot and the scenes always reflect a dark theme, which goes a lot with what the movie has to offer. The film shows the tangled lives of these two women and how they emerge from the consequences. Apart from these two main characters, there are two other secondary characters that are integrated as a complement to the film.

This can definitely be a great movie for viewers who love to visually examine dark themed thrillers. Another great thing about this thriller is that it has an open ending. An open-ended thriller is electrifying in itself. It is affirmative to say that this thriller does not follow in the footsteps of the cliché of the thriller genre. It has its own taste and plot twists that can keep anyone hooked for 1.50 minutes. A series of incidents leave the ending open, and will definitely leave the audience in a state of bewilderment where you will doubt whether you intended for a definitive ending or not. Most thrillers will have cause and effect theories towards the end, but this one leaves you to your imagination.

Without a doubt, this is a fascinating and plot-driven movie that can take control of you and your conceptions regarding the movie as it offers some exciting scenes.

Final score – [7.5/10]
