The internet nearly collapsed after Desmond Howard’s horrible picks in the college football playoffs

I honestly don’t know if former Michigan football player and current ESPN analyst Desmond Howard is now just trying to get attention and play a part, or if he really means some of the horrible shots he has.

Last week, Howard couldn’t believe that CJ Stroud was a top Heisman candidate even though Stroud was in New York last year, and now this ridiculous take.

When asked in a segment to provide his college football playoff picks, Howard went under the radar with picks that not even a coin toss would likely produce.

When asked to give his picks for the teams that will be part of the CFP, Howard (earnestly) chose the undeniable fantastic four teams from Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Michigan and Baylor.

Say what?

Ok, the Michigan pick was predictable. That’s because there’s no more home run in college football than Howard when it comes to picking the Wolverines. He would likely take the corn and blues over the LA Rams in an exhibition game. Cross that out, I know he would.

But choosing Pittsburgh, Baylor and Texas A&M is something else. I mean, yeah, maybe one of those teams will have a special season where all the stars line up and find a way to elbow their way through. But three of those teams having that kind of year just isn’t happening.

Note that it really isn’t that hard to get at least a couple of these teams right, as there seems to be a revolving door with Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Notre Dame, but whatever. At least he picked the most reasonable of the most unreasonable quartet in picking the Aggies to beat the Wolverines for the national championship, so at least there’s that.

Maybe we’re all part of the punch line here and Howard got into a time machine after going 88 miles per hour in a DeLorean with Marty McFly and he has information about the future that we don’t have. Not likely, but that’s more likely the four teams he picked are having fun.

The internet and social media were abuzz with criticism after Howard embarrassed himself and here are some of the best reactions for his fun and humor.
