Now, the head coach has given Mobile, Alabama, the keys to the offense. frank scelfo and offensive coordinator Greg Stevens.

Scelfo and Stevens have been impressed with a group of quarterbacks that includes Johnson, eli sawyer Y grant tisdale.

“Cephus has really improved this offseason in terms of his balance and overcoming his progressions,” Stevens said. “We want to see him continue to develop as a leader, but there’s no question his athleticism gives us an added dimension to our offense.

“Eli is a very accurate passer and gets his reads very quickly,” Stevens continued. “Grant is a winner and both guys have really improved a lot this offseason. We’re confident all three quarterbacks can help us win games if asked.”

Scelfo echoed many of Stevens’s thoughts on the progression of the group as a whole.

“We’ve seen a lot of competition among that group this fall,” Scelfo said. “Cephus has parted ways in that role, but Eli and Grant have had good camps. Those guys are competing and we can see them getting better every day.

“Cephus’ ability to take care of the ball will be the key to his success,” added Scelfo. “Whether he’s running or passing, he has to make the right decisions with the ball in his hands.”
