Rajkummar Rao sat down with Netflix India to share all the behind-the-scenes anecdotes as he filmed his action-packed chase sequence in Hit the first case.
In this latest video with Netflix India, you can see Rajkummar Rao cheering on his character Vikram as he chases down bad guys. He breaks it down revealing every little detail that went into making it work.
This action scene was shot on location in Jaipur, so everything you see in the movie is happening and not just graphically edited on a green screen. The film crew changed between various locations at night for its making.

The filming of it took place throughout the night. Although it sounds exhausting enough, Rajkummar Rao’s account exudes sparkling enthusiasm. He talks about Jaipur’s Johri Bazar, a place that lights up at night, which translates especially well on screen.
The shot for this specific scene was set around prime time, 8:30 to 9:00 pm, when other cars were also seen on the road.
And although the actor himself had already gotten into the scene and the mood for filming while driving his jeep, other people traveling alongside him often called out his name. In the end, going out of character due to distraction, he would wave at them and hint that the shooting was happening at that moment.

Thereafter, the actor proudly mentions, “This is me, Rajkummar Rao doing some action.” He goes on to add that he is “a trained martial artist”, but it was quite disturbing that no one offered him the opportunity to flaunt his moves. Fortunately, Sailesh Kolanu, the director of his last film, made it possible.
As he rewatches the scene and goes through the same emotions he felt back then, Rao feels that everything felt “so real, so raw” in how they shot the fight sequence. He believes that if you let a few people go off the rails, they will definitely engage in a fight similarly.
Finally, when he hits the pause button, he cordially invites the audience to meet his on-screen character, Vikram, in this “exciting and intense journey” that is Hit the first case.
The official synopsis for the film reads: “Plagued by old demons, a troubled but brilliant detective sets out to solve two confusing kidnapping cases, one involving his own girlfriend.”
