Mahindra has officially started the delivery of its new Scorpio N SUV across India. Along with the delivery reports, we also started to find reports about problems that various Mahindra Scorpio N users are facing with the vehicles. Scorpio N was one of Mahindra’s most anticipated products this year and was so popular that Mahindra received more than 1 lakh bookings within half an hour after bookings started. People who bought the new Scorpio N started posting videos of their SUV online and here we have one of those videos where a Scorpio N owner talks about 15 things he didn’t like about the SUV.
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. In this video, the owner talks about all the negative things he has found in the new Scorpio N SUV. One of the first issues is fit and finish. It shows a rubber lip between the hood and the front grille. It is not evenly placed and at one end the bead even comes out of the hood. Below shows that the roof lining of your Scorpio N is not evenly installed. Like exterior trim, roof sheathing doesn’t push up perfectly to the roof in many places. He also mentions that the Mahindra dealer did not secure the seat belt cover on the SUV and the roof lining is already dirty.

Then go to the next number. He bought the top-of-the-line 4×4 manual version of the Scorpio N and it comes with a sunroof. The speakers in this SUV are roof mounted and if you open the sunroof, you expose the back of the speaker. In the event of rain or a roof leak, the speakers would be the first to be damaged. The next thing you didn’t like about the Scorpio N is the rear wiper design. It is designed like a boomerang and does not completely clear the rear windshield. It also mentions that Mahindra doesn’t offer a dedicated button to control the rear air conditioning vents.
Next he talks about the clutch. He mentions that the clutch is light but there is a lot of travel. Other than that, there is some noise from the clutch pedal when it is depressed. The next problem is with the gear lever. Gear changes are not very smooth and changing gears requires a lot of effort. After this, he mentions that he is also facing problems using the horn. The speaker pad on the steering wheel is not installed correctly. He also complains about the position of the 4×4 rotary knob. The car can switch from 2WD to 4WD while in motion. It will only activate 4H and not 4L.
The next thing he mentions in the video is the quality of the camera. He’s not entirely satisfied with the camera quality Mahindra offers with the Scorpio N. He then points out the design flaw in the door pockets and bottle holders. The owner mentions that ergonomically, these aren’t the best. The next negative aspect of the Scorpio N is the tailgate. It opens to the side instead of going up. This makes it difficult to open the door if there are other cars parked nearby. He also mentions that you can’t fold the third row seat if the occupants have reclined the second row all the way.
He then talks about the missing air conditioning vent for the third row passenger. He mentions that Mahindra should have offered an air conditioning vent for third-row occupants since it is a large SUV. He then talks about braking. He mentions that body roll is well contained in this SUV, but if you apply the brakes at high speeds, the whole car starts to move sideways. The SUV is not composed during high-speed braking. The last point he mentions in the video is about the steering wheel. He mentions that the wheels are too light even at high speeds and you don’t feel connected to the road.
