Three-Race Lincoln Labor Day Weekend Swing Awaits You

Mooresville, NC (08/30/22) – Nick Hoffman scored the Renegades of Dirt Modified Series victory Saturday night in his debut at Sharon Speedway in his No. 2 Wehrs Machine & Racing Products/Outlaw Mini Loaders NOS Energy Drink / FOX Racing Shox / Rockwell Security / Elite Modified Chassis.

“It was a pretty wild weekend. We were fighting hard with (Ethan) Dotson for the win on Friday night. I pulled ahead and should have committed to sliding all the way through turns three and four (on the white flag lap), but I left a lane and he was able to drive back around me. We made contact and my right front tire was flat, and I was ready for the ride, and we both turned behind the checkered flag. No hard feelings, just hard racing,” Hoffman said. “Saturday night was our first trip to Sharon (Speedway), and it’s one of the best tracks I’ve ever been to. There we got the victory.

“We now look forward to three consecutive nights of racing this weekend at Farmer City Raceway, Fairbury Speedway and Spoon River Speedway.”

On Friday night, Nick Hoffman embarked on a busy weekend in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The action kicked off Friday night at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, where 30 entries entered the Mid-Atlantic Modified Series event.

A second-place finish in his heat race put Nick seventh on the starting grid for the 25-lap feature at the 1/2-mile oval.

The latter stages of the evening’s feature found Hoffman facing off against Ethan Dotson for the title role. Going into turn three on the final lap, Nick moved into the lead with Dotson struggling to get back on his outside. The drag duo ran out of turn four before making contact, resulting in a flat right front tire on the No. 2 Hoffman.

The duo crashed across the finish line with Nick crossing second behind Dotson with Michael Altobelli Jr., Drake Troutman and David Stremme rounding out the Top 5.

On Saturday, for the first time, the team invaded Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio), where Hoffman posted his 23rddr win of the year at the Renegades of Dirt Modified event. He swept the night’s schedule by setting a fast qualifying time with a lap of 17.924 seconds. He then backed it up with a quick victory from a fourth-place start.

Starting on pole for the feature, Hoffman hit the main field for the win, which came over Nate Young, Joe Gabrielson, Ty Rhoades and Mike McGee.
