Netflix has a slew of new shows and movies to watch over Labor Day weekend. While none are on the scale of Amazon Prime’s big launch today in the form of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, there are still some new titles worth checking out. Here’s what’s new and hot on Netflix for September 2, 2022.

Today is your last chance to see the excellent sci-fi movie Freaks coming out tomorrow. This weekend is your last chance to see the science fiction series Frequency and your last chance to see the vampires’ diaries also.

Eight episodes of the new limited series from executive producers Daria Polatin, Rachel Miller and Andrew Wilder have just landed to kick off Netflix’s spooky Halloween lineup.

This suspense series starring Emily Deschanel, who plays Dr. Suzanne Mathis, is about a psychiatrist who takes in a little girl and puts her life and her family’s life in danger because of a cult.


fakes (Season 1)

It’s been a while since Netflix got a CBC (Canadian state broadcaster) co-production, but Fakes has arrived, and so far it’s garnered rave reviews.

The series comes David Turko, who has worked at Netflix’s warrior nun, and is about two girls, Zoe and Becca, who set out to build their own fake ID empire. Apparently, things are on the rise, and business is booming, bringing a unique set of problems that could bring your empire crashing down.
