Netflix’s The Imperfects Season 2 Potential Release Date & More

the imperfect spoilers follow.

I love a superhero show like umbrella academy where people are endowed with extravagant powers that they cannot control? How about a supernatural-themed YA series like The order? Netflix has you covered with a new show from The order showrunner Dennis Heaton called the imperfect.

Co-created with Shelley Eriksen, the show follows three 20-somethings named Abbi, Juan, and Tilda, who become legendary monsters thanks to scientific meddling. Billed by Netflix as a “rage rage” story, the imperfect combines modern science with mythological tradition based on creatures such as the banshee, the succubus and the chupacabra.

Unsurprisingly, a lot happens in the first ten episodes of the first season, but what should fans expect next? That’s where we come in.

Join us here at digital spy as we reveal everything you need to know about the imperfect second season on Netflix.

Network TV shows typically return to our screens within a year, but with Netflix, that gap can sometimes be a bit longer. Assuming that the imperfect is soon renewed for a second season, we’d expect to see new episodes drop in the second half of 2023.

Whether or not that actually happens largely depends on how many subscribers watch all the way to the end within the first thirty days of launch. With that in mind, expect to hear a season two update in mid-October, hopefully.

• Rhys Nicholson as Dr. Alex Sarkov
• Celina Martin as Hannah Moore
• Kyra Zagorsky as Isabel Finch

However, the second season could face a hurdle when it comes to the role of Iñaki Godoy, because Netflix cast him in a key role for its live action. One piece adaptation. If this project ends up being as big as we hope, scheduling conflicts could soon arise.

Throughout the season, our central trio is desperate to find a cure, but in the end, when one finally arrives, Tilda decides to keep her gifts and use them to help people as a vigilante.

Unfortunately for Juan and Abbi, we later learn that the cure they enjoy is not permanent. And it’s not like they can go to Dr. Burke for help, either, because the not-so-great doctor has been secretly working against the trio all along.

And then on top of all that, there’s also the monstrous virus itself that has now taken over the entire city.

Things aren’t looking too good for the gang in a potential second season, though a final reveal hints at a change in the status quo.

It turns out that Dr. Alex Sarkov, the man who experimented on them, was also experimented on, though he didn’t know it himself. And Sarkov’s intelligence comes from the DNA of another scientist named Dr. Hallenbeck, who is seen talking to Dr. Burke in a final video call.

The ramifications of all this will obviously play a very important role in the imperfect the second season, and maybe, just maybe, the trio will eventually find a new ally in the form of Sarkov. However, maybe we shouldn’t count our chupacabra just yet.
