A report from Deadline revealed Netflix’s Fall and Holiday movie slate, which includes The school of good and evil, which was given a release date of October 19. Based on a series of bestselling books by chainani, The school of good and evil follows best friends Sophie and Agatha as they end up on opposite sides of an age-old struggle to keep the balance of a magical world. Dragged away from home and brought to the titular academy, the pair must figure out if they will end up being the hero or the villain of the story as they are trained to fulfill their new roles.

Starring Sofia Wylie (Agatha) and Sophia Anne Caruso (Sophie) and directed by GhostbustersPaul Feig, the film promises to reimagine much-loved fairy tales. While talking about the upcoming project, the director expressed his excitement for the world created by Chainani. “I’m really excited to bring to life this amazing, moving, funny and empowering world that Soman created in his wonderful books. I feel like a frog who just became a prince,” said Feig.

The film features an all-star cast in addition to Wylie and Sophia. Mad Max: Fury Roadby Charlize Theron and ScandalKerry Washington’s Kerry Washington are among the many actors who have been announced so far. Theron will play Lady Lesso, the former Dean of the School of Evil, while Washington will play her counterpart, Professor Clarissa Dovey, the Dean of Good.

With Chainani working as a producer on the film alongside Feig, the two have expressed their excitement for the upcoming release.
