ComingSoon is pleased to offer an exclusive track from ivy + bean — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with music by composer Michael Yezerski, who scored all three films in the Netflix fantasy series. The song, titled “The Rain Spell,” will appear on the upcoming digital soundtrack album, which will be released on September 2 to coincide with the release of the films.
“Songwriting Ivy & Bean has been the highlight of my career – three different movies, three different musical worlds, and two brilliant main characters to get us through it all!” Yezersk said. “’The Rain Spell’ features two of my favorite themes from the movies. It starts with our theme ‘Ivy / Magic Potions’ and builds into a great rendition of the main theme ‘Ivy & Bean’ (which visually matches the coming together of the characters). I was thrilled not only to have our wonderful artists from Budapest and Sydney on the floor, but also the world-class Sydney Boys Choir who lent us their angelic voice.”

Originally from Australia, and with a background in both contemporary concert music and electronic music production, Michael Yezerski blends styles and influences in a way that pushes the boundaries of what dramatic film music can be. Rich in technique and sitting comfortably on the frontier of avant-garde musical design, Michael’s work is nonetheless fundamentally human and melodic at its core.
In addition to marking the three ivy + bean films, Yezerski also scores episode 4 of the upcoming Guillermo del Toro/Netflix anthology series, cabinet of curiositieswhich premieres October 25 and co-writes the hit Starz series blind point.
