The mastermind behind some of television’s greatest dramas will join Morven Christie in his first television role since his shocking exit from crime drama The Bay. In RecoveryThe actress will return to her native Scotland to play a woman who becomes embroiled in a dangerous police operation to bring down a notorious crime lord.

As the synopsis for the series says: “Living an idyllic family lifestyle in suburban Edinburgh, Lexie is unaware that her husband, Jared, has been laundering Cal Morris’s illegal proceeds on a grand scale.. Jared’s every move is being monitored by financial investigators DC Jibran Khan and DCI Adam Guthrie, who are determined to use the Noble family to bring Cal Morris to justice.

Jared’s business partner, Lexie is forced to work for Cal, as the police network inexorably tightens. Soon, Lexie finds herself walking a treacherous tightrope. between Cal and the police in which his safety, and even his life, are in grave danger.
Morven Christie to lead cast of new ITV drama
Along with Morven in the cast are The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power star peter mullan, Ten percent star Prasanna Puwanaraja and Derek Riddell, who is known for his roles in happy valley Y Lord Jack.
Jed is the brains behind some of the best drama on television.
Speaking about the exciting new role, Morven said, “I fell in love with Lexie from page one, and I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Peter and this wonderful team in my hometown.”

As viewers will know, Morven was last seen on screens playing the lead DS character Lisa Armstrong in ITV’s much-loved crime drama. The Bay. It was a big surprise for the viewers when he announced his departure at the end of the second season and it was replaced by Marsha Thomason for the third series.
While Morven has yet to come clean about the exact reason for his departure, he said goodbye to the role on social media: “Goodbye Lisa. You were a gift. Thank you Daragh Carville, thank you dear @leehavenjones for bringing me in, and the greatest love EVER to the team who supported me and have my heart.”
