netflix and Lindsay Lohan are getting into the holiday spirit with the release of the trailer for falling in love with christmas. Coming to Netflix in November, the film stars Lohan as an amnesiac heiress who vacations with a single father (Chord Overstreet). In the trailer, Lohan performs “Jingle Bell Rock” and you can check it out for yourself by watching the video below. The film will be released globally on Netflix on November 10, 2022, with Lohan’s full “Jingle Bell Rock” track available on all DSPs beginning November 4.
“Happy Holidays everyone! Christmas has come early this year and I’ve been bringing presents,” Lohan says in an introductory segment at the beginning of the trailer.
Janeen Damian directs falling in love with christmas. Jeff Bonnett conceived the story and co-wrote the screenplay with Ron Oliver. Michael Damian and Brad Krevoy produced, while executive producers include Steve Berman, Bryan Bordon, Jimmy Townsend, David Wulf, Janeen Damian, Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Phillips. Along with Lohan and Overstreet, falling in love with christmas stars George Young, Jack Wagner, Olivia Pérez, Alejandra Flores, Chase Ramsey, Sean Dillingham, and Antonio D. Charity.
The official synopsis for the film reads:
A spoiled, newly engaged hotel heiress gets into a skiing accident, suffers from total amnesia, and finds herself in the care of a handsome blue-collar hotel owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.
Lindsay Lohan arrives on Netflix for the holidays
“Christmas is a time when family comes together,” Lohan said of the film’s Christmas theme, via Tudum. “It’s such a lovely vacation. [Falling for Christmas] It’s such a refreshing and moving romantic comedy, and I miss doing those kinds of movies.”
On doing her own stunts for the ski scenes, Lohan adds, “All the stunt scenes were so much fun for me because I haven’t been able to do much in a lot of my movies. [Like] flying down the hill, trying to ski well and not doing it. I love the idea ski, [but] I’m not very good at it.”
falling in love with christmas it comes as part of a multi-picture deal between Lohan and Netflix. He will also team up with director Janeen Damian for another film set in Ireland called Irish wish. Written by Kirsten Hansen, that film will star Lohan as a bridesmaid who “makes a magical wish that makes her the bride, only to realize it may not be what she really wants.”
