HFC win 2-0 at intermission after a closely contested first half. Both teams were trying to get back on their feet when the game got off to a cautious start, opting to go for the long ball rather than pass it. BFC had a few chances to score the first goal of the game, but came up empty. HFC’s Bartholomew Ogbeche scored the first goal of the game after a well-placed free kick. Sandesh Jhingan’s deflection of Bartholomew Ogbeche’s shot into the net gave HFC a two-goal lead with just over a minute of extra time to go in the first half.

On the edge of halftime, BFC received a free kick but couldn’t capitalize on it. Despite being two goals behind, BFC had most of the ball in the first half. While HFC will want to finish the game in the second half, they will be looking for a goal that will put them back in the game early in the second half.

Down two goals, BFC created quite a few chances in the second half, but they couldn’t make it worth their while. With BFC running out of time and options in the game, HFC scored their third through Joel Chianese off an assist from Abdul Anjukandan. So, it is HFC who collect all three points from tonight’s match and regain their position at the top of the Hero ISL 2022-23 standings. Now they return home for their next game against NorthEast United FC.
