Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. has announced that it will be closing its doors for good in East El Paso.

After nearly a decade, the local coffee shop known for its unique square donuts is closing and saying goodbye to its customers this weekend.
Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. originally opened in Montecillo in 2014, and in 2021, amid a pandemic, it closed and moved to the east side, making room for 2Ten Coffee Roasters to take over its place.
In a post shared on FitFam, Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. shared the following:
after eight special years of doing what we love: making the perfect cup of coffee, curating unique cakes with you in mind, building beautiful relations that traveled with us from Montecillo to the Eastside of EP – it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of our doors this Sunday, October 9the. You can enjoy all your Hillside favorites for the rest of the week, so be sure to get your freshly baked dozen and Grandpaita lattes while you can!
But now it looks like the popular hot spot is shutting down and opening a new company. The post about the coffee shop closing also included another message stating that while Hillside Coffee & Donut Co. may be closing, another company is appearing on the horizon saying:
But with one door closing, new doors open! Stay tuned for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT – we’ve got something cooking that you’ll love.
Mentioning that they have ‘something cooking’, we can only assume that a new restaurant could spring from the coffee grounds of Hillside Coffee & Donut Co., but we’ll have to wait until they share more details.
