Henderson and Reutzel score wins on penultimate night of racing of the season at Huset’s Speedway

BRANDON, SD (Dakota News Now) – Aaron Reutzel and Justin Henderson produced standout wins Saturday night during the opening night of The Bull Haulers Brawl presented by Folkens Bros. Trucking.

It marked the first victory of the season at Huset’s Speedway for both drivers.

Reutzel hit the field during the 25-lap main event of the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association and Casey’s 410 Sprint Cars Presented by Big Frig.

A pair of red flags in the first two laps and warnings on laps 8 and 16 brought the field to the rear bumper of Reutzel, who sped up on every restart as he rode the high-banked track. Traffic allowed Carson McCarl early and Jack Dover late to catch Reutzel, who held on to the point to win by 0.829 seconds.

Ian Madsen took advantage of a final lap slide at turns three and four to pass Dover for second position. Mark Dobmeier moved from 14th to fourth and Riley Goodno completed the top five.

Reutzel set a fast time during qualifying before Tim Estenson, Dover and Brendan Mullen all scored heat race wins.

Henderson led all 20 laps of the Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series main event, beating Kaleb Johnson by 0.700 seconds.

The feature was slowed down by a caution on lap 8 and a red flag on lap 9. Otherwise, it was all smooth sailing for Henderson, who weaved efficiently through traffic en route to the winged sprint car win. 360ci.

Matt Juhl was third and Eric Lutz finished fourth. Goodno, who started 14th, executed a final-lap pass over Dover to secure fifth place.

The heat races were won by Juhl, Lutz, Brooke Tatnell and Christopher Thram. Clint Garner was the winner of B Main.

The season concludes at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday. The Bull Haulers Brawl presented by Folkens Bros. Trucking features the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association and Casey’s 410 Sprint Cars presented by Big Frig, Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series 360 sprint cars and Nordstrom’s Automotive Late Model Street Stocks.
