The South Dakota Speedway, home to auto racing in Guyana, will welcome some of the region’s fastest cars in various groups, along with radical cars, for the event on November 12-13.
Over the past 50 years, GMR&SC said they have transformed the auto industry in Guyana through the strategic creation of high-level racing competitions and events that cut across various demographics: status, religion, gender and age, attracting more than 30,000 sponsors in a single space for one day.
The highly anticipated annual November Race of Champions is said to be the largest individual sporting event that is consistent, well-managed and attracts consistent following and equitable investment, and is also the GMR&SC flagship event on your local racing calendar. of cars.
According to organizers, the ongoing Radical Caribbean Cup (RCC) will culminate in Guyana and fans will have the opportunity to cheer on Kristian Jeffrey, the only Guyanese to compete in the series.
As the series heads to Trinidad this weekend, Jeffrey, with four wins from the six races so far, leads the RCC standings with 125 points.
Jamaica’s Senna Summerbell, son of multiple Caribbean racing champion David Summerbell Jr., is also expected to compete in Guyana.
Zane Maloney, Bajan, 19, who is the 2022 FIA Formula 3 runner-up, is also among the star-studded list of drivers touted to be a part of the event.
In addition to the high-octane events in South Dakota, the Guyana Auto Show, the GMRSC said, will be the first of its kind to be held in the country, catering to auto dealers, banks and other enthusiasts.
The GMR&SC noted that significant work has been done in South Dakota in recent years as it aspired to host high-level events, such as Formula 4 cars for the North American and Central American Championship (NACAM) in the near future.
