2022 is rapidly drawing to a close, and we’ve learned the release dates for many upcoming Netflix shows set to premiere later in the year. However, there is a program that we have been patiently waiting to return and it is taking longer than expected. Yes, we are talking about the teen series. Ginny and Georgia. seriously, where is Ginny and Georgia season 2?
After reviewing the list of new releases coming in October, we noticed that Ginny and Georgia season 2 was skipped again. We really hoped we could see the second season this month. When production wrapped in April, we were expecting at least six months of post-production before the show hit Netflix. Well, it’s officially October and there’s no news of season two coming out this month.
Honestly we should have known Ginny and Georgia season 2 would not arrive in October because Netflix would have probably announced the release date in September. This is what the streamer normally does.
But it’s not all bad news. Showrunner Debra J. Fisher recently gave an update on season two and when we can expect it.
Ginny and Georgia Season 2 Release Updates
On September 1, Debra J. Fisher posted a TikTok giving fans an update on Ginny and Georgia season 2. In TikTok video, she says Netflix will take 14 weeks to dub Ginny and Georgia to all non-English speaking languages. He also mentions that without an official word from Netflix, the release date is pushed to the end of the year. But aren’t we already at the end of the year?
Although Fisher’s TikTok didn’t give fans much information about the release date, she was more forthcoming with the information in the comments section of the video. For example, a comment says, “so December???” Fisher responds by saying, “Mid to late December at the earliest.” So it seems that Fisher meant that we could possibly see the second season at the end of the year on her TikTok.
If the new season comes out in December, it would have spent eight months in post-production. This is not uncommon because a Netflix show can spend up to eight months in post-production. However, we didn’t expect editing to take this long for a show like Ginny and Georgia.
So it looks like we might be seeing Ginny and Georgia Season 2 just in time for Christmas. Hopefully the release won’t be delayed until next year because that would be such a bummer. However, there is a possibility that Netflix will hold it until February 2023 as the first season came out in February 2021. But we are keeping our fingers crossed for a December 2022 release.
