Giancarlo Esposito has portrayed several iconic characters throughout his career, with most of his portrayals consisting of menacing villains. The actor is Gustavo Fring in breaking bad Y Better call Saul, owner of Los Pollos Hermanos by day and ruthless drug trafficker by night. Additionally, Esposito plays Moff Gideon in the mandalorian, where he is the leader of a fallen remnant of the Galactic Empire determined to capture Grogu, the boy who protects the main character. The actor also has a recurring role on Boys, the main video series that focuses on superheroes abusing their power. He plays Stan Edgar, the former CEO of Vought International and one of the most powerful characters in the series despite the fact that he doesn’t have any super-powered abilities available.
Now, Esposito is taking on a new role, which will be in the voice acting category with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. According to a tweet from official edgerunners account, the 64-year-old actor will play a character named Faraday in the anime series. Although the background of the role is still unknown, you can expect to see his character pull off some devious acts if he is anything like his other featured roles. Esposito will, of course, appear in the English dub of Cyberpunk: Edgerunnerssince the initial language of the series will be Japanese.
The rest of the cast was announced with Esposito, and the team consists of Zack Aguilar (Murderer of demons), Matthew Mercer (attack on titan), Stephanie Wong (Green snake), Gloria Garayua (Fun with Dick and Jane) and Borge Etienne (shadows in the mirror) along with several others. The series will feature 10 episodes, developed by Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red, the developers behind the video game, cyberpunk 2077. The series will follow a street kid trying to survive in a future city obsessed with technology and body modification. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming Edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw also known as Cyberpunk.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners should scratch that itch for people who enjoy projects like Bounty hunter, Akira, ghost in the shellY TRON: Legacy. If you want to see more of Giancarlo Esposito, then Netflix’s latest project with Studio Trigger should be just what you need. The level of his participation in the series is still unknown; however, fans are hoping for another iconic role from the celebrated actor.
