Gaylord's Charlie Holscher plays the ball with his head during a game with Boyne City on Thursday, August 25.

The varsity started with a 1-2 record in the first three games, beating Shelby 5-1 and falling to Ludington and Traverse City Christian, 5-1 and 2-0 respectively.
