Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 11 – Winter

Season 11 – Winter begins in force horizon 5 with a host of new challenges, PR stunts, races and more to complete as part of the festival’s weekly playlist challenges. And we’ve got all the tips and tricks you’ll need to be successful.

Part 1: #Forzathon Weekly Challenge: Complete Drifter

The title alone makes me feel warm and fuzzy this week as I love a bit of drift.

The car of the moment this winter is the world famous “Mona” from Tokyo Drift, the Nissan S15 Silvia Spec-R. This was the highest model number Silvia ever climbed to, and while I’ll always have a soft spot for the RPS-13, this is still a nice little car.

The SR-20DET engine packs a lot of punch, and while swapping it out for an LS-series V8 is a popular mod, I prefer to keep things classic. You’ll need to increase the asking price of 35,000 credits if you don’t already have the car. Or play The Eliminator – details are near the bottom of this piece.

Chapter 1 – Drift Machine

Hop in your S15 and take a spin, preferably sideways.

Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Force of Art Silvia

Next, we need to use the Silvia to win a street race.

I’m not really using the drift potential there, but whatever. Keep it available and you’ll be fine, just pick an event you enjoy.

Be careful though, the stock brakes suck.

Chapter 3 – Taking Action

We finally have some tire shredding, sideways action!

Now we need to go out there and get five Ultimate Drift abilities, so we’re going to need a little more power to make those tires scream. I made this shared code: 111980863.

It’s a mix of different styles, from Trial and Top Secret, and now has over 600 BHP from its stock engine. A good way to get this? A Drift Horizon Arcade event!

Chapter 4 – Legend of Drift

Finally, we need to earn five stars in Drift Zones to finish

.I would select a shorter one, then let it rip. The same melody will see you well. And that’s the end of that.

Although you may just need to keep the side action a little longer…

Part 2 – Weekly Challenges

Are you ready for some challenges? The trial is here, as are multiple PR stunts and a few season championships as the Series 11 winter hits hard.

The Test: Stock Duel: Volvo 850 R

I like these Stock events for The Trial as any car failure cannot be pinned on my doorstep.

We need to grab a Volvo 850 R for this event, a highly unlikely supercar that has actually raced in the BTCC in the past, and then we need to grab some like-minded racers off the internet and show these unbeatable driving robots that they aren’t.

Our prize for driving basically in a swap body is a Ferrari 575M, so that’s a step up.

Eventlab – Unworthy Pleb presents Riviera Maya Super Scramble

Great, it’s back – my favorite of all the weekly challenges.

This time, we have to use a Rally Monster car, up to a maximum S1 Class 900 to go and drive a custom tour for someone who has too much time on his hands.

This time the course is four ridiculous minutes of nonsense, with no competition, so take your time. I used the Hoonigan Escort, the oldest with a share code of: 264985022

Winning this event (or completing it, I guess) will give you the “So Cute” emote. Just what I always wanted.

Speed Zone – Rocky Hills

Another week, another speed test.

We have to complete this speed zone at an average speed greater than 70 mph, in a car between 1990 and 2009 adjusted to a maximum of Class A 800.

Now this is quite a technical course as well as being off-road so we need something with poise and handling as well as speed. Inspired by all my time playing Need for Speed Most WantedI went with a BMW M3 GTR, and the share code is: 198385025.

Approaching from the west made it a bit easier and cut the final corner as much as you can.

A Honda S2000 is your reward for keeping up your speed.

Trail Blazer – Ravine

It’s been a while since we had to do a Trail Blazer, and this time we needed to complete the course with 32 seconds left on the clock, in a Class A 800 car from the same decade as the previous one.

So off road and fast?

How about a Hoonigan Escort Cosworth, the “Cossie V2”? I used mine on the original cutout and it worked like a charm. Top tip is to turn left at the top as far as you can as there are some pretty nasty rocks then carefully make your way through the trees at the bottom.

I think a Super Wheelspin is a fitting reward.

Season Championship – Rally Shakedown

The first of this week’s weekly championships promises to be a good one: take a Modern Rally Car from the 2000s, then win the entire championship or improve two out of three races if you’re in a convoy.

Now when I think of Modern Rally I think of Subaru vs Evo, and my money always comes down to Evo, so this week I’m going to pick something different. The truth is a lie, for me it is an Evo VIII MR. The shared code is: 141172186

Our prize for this event? A beautiful Volvo 850R. Just right for The Trial, huh?

Season Championship – GT1 Legends

This one again has an intriguing title. GT1? What could this be about? Well, it’s not as exciting as it sounds sadly being restricted to Retro Supercars from the 1990s, up to a maximum Class A 800.

So there’s really only one option, and that’s a Jaguar XJ220, a car that could break the magical 200mph barrier. Using a Metro 6R4 engine, no less, with turbos the size of your head. The share code is: 123500759, with just a hint of AWD and some racing shocks.

The prize for pedaling to victory is a 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R, R34 body shape, which is still the best looking IMO. In Bayside Blue? Glorious.

Season Championship – Racing in the 90’s

Another championship, another chance to race cars from the 90s, this time Retro Sportscars up to a maximum B Class 700.

The 90s were not a classic time for sports cars, I don’t think so, and the best of all was undoubtedly the Mitsubishi GTO. Tuned, the shared code is: 145659272.

However, a Ferrari F355 for our problem seems fair.

Part 3 – Other Challenges

After Series 11 – Autumn only offered a challenge, we go back to the trilogy of Photo Challenge, Treasure Hunt and The Eliminator.

Photo Challenge: #MAKEENTRANCE

On the heels of winning the last championship, to complete this week’s Photo Challenge we need to take our GTO to Mulegé and photograph it at the arch.

Seems pretty easy, right? Well, that’s because it is!

I will post my photo and location below to make it easier for you.

Treasure hunt: race against time

“Run like it’s 1999 with a perfect finish,” says this week’s track, and the people who make them must have worked overtime on that pun, right?

Purrfect is obviously referring to the 1999 Ford Puma, so I guess we just have to win one race with it, yes?

Well, that’s absolutely what we have to do. I suspected the Mulegé Arch run as I was there taking a photo anyway.

I will include the location of the treasure chest below.

The Eliminator – Battle Royale

Ah, The Eliminator, my old enemy.

We have to get into a match, then somehow survive in the top 30.

I tend to hide on a mountain, away from everyone, and let them take each other out to increase my chances. Now this is not without its risks, as you can find yourself in the bottom 10 in a Beetle, but nothing risked, nothing gained. Do your best!

Get a Silvia for winning. The one you need for the first event at the top of this piece.

Part 4 – Hot Wheels Events

There are some hot wheels events to take in once again. We love Hot Wheels, just keep in mind that you will need to be at the Elite level in the DLC.

Drift Zone – Rock Slide

Get around in a Class A car from the years 1990-2009. I would suggest using the Hoonigan Twerkstallion, better known as the Mazda Rx-7, as it is the correct level and has drift tires fitted as standard. No tuning required!

A Super Wheelspin is yours to slide around in style.

Season Championship – See You Saloon

Another championship in which to participate, and this time it is the Class B 700 Retro Berlinas.

I went with a Sierra Cosworth, and the beast’s share code is 364526118.

You know the routine, win the whole solo or better two out of three if you have a friend and you can walk away with a lovely prize.

How adorable? How about a 2006 Audi RS4?

You can also take part in monthly events in the form of the Horizon Story, the Forza EV Los Jardines Circuit and the Plano Bay Circuit for some clean lap fun. Each of these will give you more reward points, helping you get the free cars for the week, and the series, all a little faster.

By completing the challenges offered in Series 11: Winter, you will earn the Subaru Legacy RS for 20 points and the Jag XJ220 for 40 points. Add in the monthly full stock engines from the ’21 BMW M4 for 80 points and the MB 300 SLR for 160 points and everything looks good.

As always, we’d love to hear if you like these guides. Feedback is below and we will no doubt be back when Series 11 comes to a close with spring next week.

If you don’t already own a copy of Forza Horizon 5, it can be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via the xbox store. It’s also on Game Pass, while the Hot Wheels expansion costs real money.
