HARTFORD, Ohio — Cap Henry of Republic, Ohio, has certainly developed a soft spot for Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, and for the second time in 2022, the No. 4 Lane Racing ace parked him in victory lane. from the front stretch of the speedway, doing so by claiming the annual Lou Blaney Memorial title for a $12,000 Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 payday.

“This is actually the car that I won my first All Star race in 2019…we pulled it out of the weeds this week,” Cap Henry said in victory lane at Sharon Speedway. “I am super proud of my boys. We’ve really had trouble with the stain this year, especially in the last couple of weeks. Definitely some tough weeks there… I really appreciate everyone’s hard work.”
As mentioned, although Henry led at 35, the pressure was constant, mainly from Rico Abreu of St. Helena, California. Abreu, who started alongside Henry on the front row, did his best to get past the Buckeye, sliding through the entrance of Blake’s Hard Cider in turns one and two on lap 17. Although Abreu led both in Down the stretch, Henry was able to get past the No. 24 Rowdy Energy again, beating Abreu in a drag race back to the pedestal.
“I knew I had a chance there to get back at him,” Henry said of his return battle with Abreu. “I rode the left rear of him a little bit there going into three. I had high hopes that it would slide down track three and four and leave the bottom open for me to park it. Everything went well tonight and I’m so proud of everyone.”
After starting fifth, “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks would eventually move into second on lap 31, chased to the line by Abreu, Hunter Schuerenberg and Justin Peck.
The Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Mobil 1 will continue in September with the three-day blockbuster Tuscarora at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.
