Bill Webb captured the American/Race Tech Super Tuesday Shootout at the Summer Fling.
COLUMBUS, OH— The first day of on-track action for the JEGS Performance Summer Fling Presented by Optima Batteries at National Trail Raceway kicked off Tuesday following the free Expert Seminar on Monday afternoon.
The cars took to the track at noon for the Law Chevrolet Buick Test and Tune, where racers had an early opportunity to prepare their gear for the race days ahead. Meanwhile, an exclusive field of 32 cars was paired up in the Super Tuesday American Race Cars/Race Tech Shootout in hopes of securing one of two dragster chassis up for grabs with the winner given the option to build.

As 32 cars became eight, Matt Schell, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Garrett Griffith, Joe Hoskins, Kyle Bigley, Donovan Williams, Bill Webb and Tim Kelley entered the lanes for the ladder round.
Griffith gave only two thousandths of red to Hoskins, and Bigley used a substantial tree advantage to eliminate Williams. Schell advanced to the semifinals via Coughlin’s .006 break, while Webb took the TruStart victory after turning him into a red .004 to Kelley’s red light .015.

In four cars, Schell shut out Hoskins with a .015 package, and Webb capitalized on his perfect reaction time to win against Bigley and earn a spot in the final round.
While both finalists had secured a $16,000 dragster chassis, Schell and Webb would once again face off to choose between American or Race Tech. Through Schell’s .005 red light, Webb claimed the last winning light of the night. and the Race Tech dragster chassis, while Schell walked away with the American dragster chassis after dedicating his performance to his cousin Sean Serra.
