Beverly Hills Cop 4 Set Photo Confirms Return Of Two Original Stars

beverly hills police is the latest classic franchise to jump on the revival bandwagon, with a fourth film titled Beverly Hills Police: Axel Foley currently in production for Netflix.

And with production underway, that means photos from the set have started to surface online. And the set photos mean casting confirmations that have yet to be announced.

In the case of beverly hills police 4We already knew that Eddie Murphy and Paul Reiser would be back, but now we know that Judge Reinhold and John Ashton are back as well.

Reinhold plays Billy Rosewood, who started out as a junior police detective, while Ashton plays John Taggart, who was a detective sergeant in the old movies. What their characters are doing in the new one is anyone’s guess, as this photo only shows the actors relaxing on set in plain clothes rather than uniforms.

The premise of the fourth film sees Axel return to Beverly Hills to investigate possible corruption in the force following the death of an old friend.

We got a photo of Eddie Murphy himself in the title role last week, showing that his arm is in a sling, suggesting that Axel is going to be a bit rough around the edges during his return.

The fourth film has been a long time coming, partly because it was flipped from one distributor to another, but also because Murphy insisted the script be good enough.

“As soon as the script is done, I’ll do the movie, but I won’t do it until the script is done,” he said last year. “Right now, there’s part of a script, but that’s about it. But we’ve been trying to make beverly hills police 4 for over 10 years and this is the closest we got.
