Google and YouTube introduce new features

Google and YouTube have introduced new features for fans to stay up to date with the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

On Google, search for “World Cup” and follow your favorite teams. Just click the bell in the top right corner to opt in to receive notifications about your squad, the search engine giant said in a blog post.

“We know that the best fans care deeply about details like who dominates the passing game. Now when you search for a match, you will be able to see detailed stats, odds of winning and key event schedules,” he added.

Scores on the go

Can’t you see every minute of every game? Pin the score to your Android phone so you can easily view it even while you’re on the go. Using your Google Android app or from Search on mobile browsers, simply tap on the match you want to track and drag to pin the score anywhere on your screen!

You can also catch all the “ooh”, “ahh” and “GOOAAAL” moments you might have missed with daily highlights videos directly on FIFA+ Search and official broadcasters including beIN SPORTS, BBC, ZDF and more. Dive even deeper and search for your favorite athletes to learn more about their stories and achievements, Google said.

Plus, never miss a match with your Wear OS by Google watch. You can check your game viewing plans from your calendar in the Agenda app and ask Google to set reminders for upcoming games.

google assistant

The Google Assistant is helping longtime soccer fans and those new to the World Cup with an expanded collection of data. She says “Give me a soccer fun fact” to get information on the first women to referee the tournament, the number of stadiums lined up to host the event, and more. To chat about the game, ask the Assistant: “Do you like soccer?” and “Who is your favorite soccer player?”, or celebrate together with “It’s time to play” or “Say a goal!”.

There are even more ways to watch tournament highlights on YouTube. World Cup fans can catch up and re-watch highlights from each game on YouTube across FIFA and official broadcast channels.
