13 new documentaries to watch in September 2022 on Netflix, HBO – WWD

September 2022 has a long list of new documentaries and documentary series coming to streaming services.

The month sees several true crime projects debut, including Netflix’s “Sins of Our Mother,” which tells the story of Lori Vallow, who was charged with conspiring to commit the murder of her fourth husband, the wife of the fifth husband, and their two minor children. On AMC+, the streaming service is bringing back its series “True Crime Story: It Couldn’t Happen Here,” which focuses on small-town murder cases in the US.

Apple TV+ is launching a new documentary that tells the story of iconic filmmaker and activist Sidney Poitier, focusing on his work in Hollywood and during the Civil Rights Movement.
