Disney parks are constantly changing their renovation schedules, making it difficult for guests to keep up with operating hours and the latest news about their favorite attractions, resorts, shops and restaurants. Here are some big upcoming changes that are either confirmed by their respective parks or at least heavily rumored for the very near future.
In August, the popular Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique at Disney’s Magic Kingdom reopened, and Disney moved the remodeling dates for For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.
In this month’s renovation update we continue to await news of a reopening date for fantastic and The Walt Disney World Railroad. At EPCOT we still have a closure due to the ongoing International Food and Wine Festival and await word on rumors that an experience and show will never return to Walt Disney World…
1. Walt Disney World Railway (Magic Kingdom)
dates: Now – TBA
Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since late 2018 and while there have been no official updates on the renovation of this attraction, with the TRON Lightcycle/Run delayed, it looks like this closure could last a while longer. . There is currently no projected opening date for this attraction, but it had been forecast that TRON Lightcycle/Run would likely open as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which will conclude in March 2023.
In July, Disney released a TikTok video of the Walt Disney World Railroad that could hint at a reopening soon, which means hopefully we don’t have long to wait until the Walt Disney World Railroad is back up and running.
Although it has been several years since the Walt Disney World Railroad operated, many months ago Disney shared an image of the recently renovated Walter E. Disney Engine 1, which you can see above.
2. Enchanted Tales with Belle (Magic Kingdom)
dates: Now – TBA
One of the biggest attractions still not back in business after the closure of Walt Disney World is Enchanted Tales with Belle. And while this attraction is still listed as temporarily unavailable on the official Walt Disney World website, late last year Disney filed a “general construction” permit, which could mean work is being done inside this attraction to prepare it for a reopening in the near future.
Nothing has been confirmed yet and the attraction still lists “No Times Available” on the official calendar until July 30, but with so many entertainment options reopening in 2022, it would be unfortunate if Enchanted Tales With Belle was left out, especially since It appears that work is being done on this attraction behind the scenes.
3. Disney’s Enchantment (Magic Kingdom)
dates: (Select Nights Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Takes Place) Now – Oct 31, 2022
Currently, on the official Walt Disney World page, it is shown that Disney’s Enchantment only performs on certain nights and this is due to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. If you’re visiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom and want to see Disney’s Enchantment, be sure to check the official page before you go.
