    Carnauba Wax.

I've seen some people hatin' on the Zaino (kidding ) but preferring the use of a good Carnauba wax. What are the benefits of this type of wax and how is it different from a synthetic wax that most of us are used to? Do you prefer to apply it by hand or with a buffer?

I have always used a good carnauba paste wax not what you find at Wal-mart. I use a Flint wax which the pro's use. It gives ot the best protection on oxidation and fall out. Enhances the that wet look and is slick to the touch. For waxing a car I like a good hand job myself (someone is going to take that out context)

If you can afford it here is the best wax money can buy: http://www.amazon.com/Zymol-12001-Ro.../dp/B000F3K0T8

Here read up and learn: http://www.autopia.org/forum/guide-d...-your-car.html

there are many differences between a carnauba wax and a synthetic wax. A synthetic wax last longer if you park your car outside or drive it very often, it also gives your car a very wet and glossy look. A carnauba wax will not last as long as a synthetic, but it gives your car's paint a very deep look. A carnauba wax is also much harder to apply. So you have to decide whether you want a glossy look or a very deep look. Although, whenever I detail a car I always try to use both products. I like to use meguiar's 23 as my synthetic coat, and then I will use Zymol Titanium as my last step product. Zymol titanium gives you increased durability and keeps the classic zymol characteristics. So, if you want the best results, apply a synthetic coat and then top it off with a high-end carnauba paste wax. To answer your question about buffing or hand application as far as carnauba is concerned... I always apply a thin layer with my hands, you are supposed to melt the wax with the friction of your hands anyways... hit me up if you want a detail.

Glad to see you are getting to know us Thanks for the info and the links.

Rbruditt, I will try out a mix of synthetic and carnauba next time and see how it works out. Thanks for the help. I'll let cha know if I run into any problems!

You sure it's Meguiar's 23? When I search for it, some kind of odor eliminator comes up..

I really like some Klasse AIO applied and removed, then topped with Pinnacle Souveran for that extra depth. If I had the choice of only applying one it would be the Souveran hands down. Best wax I have ever used.

Carnauba is easy to apply and remove (it's not as dry, it just wipes off instead of leaving residue) and it has a shine like no other. To top that off you can use Pinnacle's Crystal Mist to help remove it and you are guaranteed to have no streaks or spots left over. Give it a shot and you'll never go back.

I also think the Pinnacle Polishin Pal is a great investment. It's the greatest applicator ever, you can get different pads for polishing or applying products. In my opinion it helps spread any wax, synthetic or carnauba, so that it's easier to remove and a more even application.

I could go on all day when it comes to this stuff. If you ever want to try out some new stuff just hit me up when you're in Bham.

Cool, sounds good Buddy. I'll be in town for Thanksgiving. Perhaps we should meet up

Let's do it. We can go to a coin wash and spend a few hours there for all I care. Might be time to schedule a November meet. We could take over a spray wash!

I'm off work the 28th, otherwise it would have to be a weekend.
