Hey,

So I am commissioning bamagz for help.
Anyone have a free couple hours or afternoon that can help me out with the gen 3 intakes?
Maybe someone who knows how to take off the front bumper nice and easy. Just looking for a helping hand.
I'll provide the beer and good times shall be had.

Dan

Alright guys, back from vacation...snowboarded a bit. Good times.

Who is down to do this?

This Weekend kinda sucks. I am off tuesday and Wednesday...

Someone throw out a time and date....Maybe start tearing it down tuesday, finish wednesday for the meet?

Ideas? Brew ideas?

I am off on thurs as well. So Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday I'm off.

Sounds good e. I will start tearing stuff out maybe today. Like I said the main thing I need guidance is with the bumper. Never taken it off. If anyone is available....

Tuesday at 230 is the time to crack the beers and go to work. I will have most if not all the old ones off by then.

Let me know.

The bumper is pretty straightforward. There are a few plastic clips right where the hood latches. There are a bunch of bolts underneath and then there are a few bolts under the front of the headlight that you have to access through the fender liners.

taking the bumper off is extremely easy, takes less than 10mins

I live right off 280 in Inverness. Where 280 meets valleydale. Behind home depot in edenton.

Edenton is a little community back off of cabana heights rd.... Past the Apts with the waterfall.

Go to the right at the stop. Building 43. I am 43204 brick building. Metal sun in my front porch.

All are welcome to come help or just chill. I will have some brews.

This. There are 3 bolts you need to take off on each side under the headlights. You don't need to actually take off any fender liner bolts in the fender, just the ones under the car that attach near the skid plate.

BTW, if they are anything like the Injens, let me give you a tip. Use soapy water to push the hoses onto the pipes.

Tuesday is the day.

Around 2 or 3pm we can start drinking and working. Whenever the first person shows up. I will have the old ones off by then.

Any help would be appreciated. Even if I had buddy and elove and maybe David just for a couple hours to shoot the shit. It would be better.

Elove has my number. Just hit me up.

Actually took a break yesterday. This shite is hard...

I wanna go but some rubber hose to line the radiator support air duct. The pipes are already messed up cuz there is nothing to keep them from knocking all over this. Also the pos hanger clamps they give you suck and the filters are huge with like zero room for these.

I wanna put my old ones back on. That was a smart design. They were reaching on these.

I am off today though. So rd. 2. Holla at a player in the streets if you wanna help

Hahaha, now you know what I was talking about! The Z is just so tightly designed up there that there isn't much room to work with. Right after I installed mine I was thinking that if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have bothered.

BUT, now that my ECU has relearned my A/F's, all I can say is WOW. Trust me, get those bitches on! And give them a few days then let into it and they will surely put a smile on your face.

The car feels a good bit quicker (and I always have a very skeptical and modest "seat pants dyno"), and they sound great too. I can't really hear the intakes per se, but the motor and entire car just sound much meaner and nicer. It's hard to describe, but it's there. And the power is CERTAINLY there. My buddy who rides with me often agrees that the power increase is definitely noticeable.

They claim ~15 whp and I would say that's accurate because that equates to roughly a 150 lb weight reduction. Well you know how your car feels with a passenger in it, compared to just you alone? It's a very noticeable difference, right? Well now even when I have a passenger, my car feels like I'm by myself. Hope that makes sense. And when I'm alone, well, full throttle is almost unusable in the small town I live in lol.

I can't wait to dyno/track!

1rwhp=~6lbs

Think you could beat a certain NA G now? :p
