I did the Z earlier, but today I've been working on my dad's Chevrolet Silverado Z71. No pics of the Z right now, everyone knows what it looks like :)

Process:
Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash
Clay with Clay Magic
Optimum Compound via Lake Country Orange Pad
Optimum Polish via Lake Country White Pad

That's as far as I've gotten. I only did one side of the truck today before my pads got too "gunked up" to use. Tomorrow I'll do the other side and top everything with Meguiar's #21, apply some Rain-X, polish the chrome, and apply some tire shine...and of course do the interior. More pics to come.

More to come tomorrow. I didn't have room to pack my halogen lights, so hopefully the sun will be out tomorrow and I can get some good shots of the paint.

Day 2, more pics.

After two passes with Optimum Compound on an orange pad and a pass with Optimum Polish on the white pad, this was the best the paint got. I was tired of dealing with it.

With the Z:

For a nearly 10-year old truck it turned out pretty good. It's definitely got its share of scratches though from spending time in the woods and I'm sure it'll get more as time goes by.
