View Full Version : Nissan Plant Tour

Some of you know me, but many of you dont. My name is Bill and I work in beautiful Canton,Ms at the Nissan Automotive plant.

I wanted to gauge interest and see what everyone would think about a plant tour. The tours usually only run on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday but I will see if we can get a special one just for Friday. How many people would be interested in doing this on a Friday sometime during the summer? Possibly like July or August.

Its a very cool riding tour that goes through all the stages of the buildup of a vehicle. From where they stamp the panels out from a roll of steel to welding and assembling the bodies, paint and then through the final assembly. I think it would be fun and I might be able to pull this off, but I need to get a good idea of how many would be interested. If its not that many I wont bother, but if we get a good response I will start right away.

Do we get to crash at Casa del Bill if we come? How far of a drive from T-Vegas?

Its about 3 1/2 to 4 hours from th autocross in Bham. I should be in a new place by them with no room mates so I dont see why not. If I could get up at 3am drive to Bham to the autocross....be a course working that morning then drive all afternoon and finally hangout with everyone and get back home at 1am you guys can drive here for a plant tour. I will try to get something else planned with this....either my local carclub or something.

I got to visit Nissan's dream car garage at its then Gardenia, Cali HQ while at the SE-R/SERCA National Convention in 2004. I wouldn't mind visiting a plant. I got a great-uncle that works at the Altima/Maxima in Tennessee.


They make the Nissan Titan/Armada, and Infiniti QX56 there.

We build the Altima Sedan, Titan, Armada, Quest van and the Infiniti QX56.
