So today I spent a few hours on the Z (unfortunately not cleaning it.. still dirty as crap hah). I changed my oil for the first time and also test fitted my pair of 20 mm spacers, then ended up installing them on the rear for good (I think).
I took some pics for your viewing pleasure. I also need opinions. I couldn't decide if I should go with 15 mm up front and 20 mm in rear, or 20 mm up front and 25 mm in rear. I think I've definitely decided that the rear's need to be thicker than the front though.
Thanks to my good neighbor for letting me use her flat driveway!
New stuffs. Did a little research and used a bigger than OEM filter that still fits. Also decided on this particular oil (commonly known as "German Castrol") after a lot of research.
Here you can see the difference in filter size.
Had to remove a bolt on the front hubs that keeps retarded tire-change monkeys from putting the rear wheels on the front of the car.
Cleaned the hub up with a wire brush.
Spacer slipped on tightly like a glove. Actually there was no slipping I had to use a rubber mallet to get them on.
All bolted up!
Ok first are before pics. Note that I only own one pair of 20 mm spacers for now so I just put them on one side to get pics.
And now for after pics. In person I thought the front looked too aggressive with 20 mm spacers at my ride height (dang I want lower springs! lol).. but now looking at the pics I'm starting to lean towards putting the 20 mm up front and maybe getting 25 mm for the rear. Can't decide...
So what do you guys think? For now I just have both of the 20 mm spacers installed in the rear... no pics yet though.
I dunno, maybe 20 mm all around is the way to go. But really, lowering the car more is the way to go! =/ There is just too much wheel gap back there. Technically I can get rid of some of the rear gap by cutting some rubber piece.. I may look into that but would rather not modify stock parts w/out replacements.
Oh and I definitely rub but only on the biggest of bumps/dips. I cringe though fearing I'm cutting into my tires. Need to get my rear fenders rolled ASAP! Hrmm, how am I going to go about doing that?...
P.S. Yep looks like it's almost time for new rear tires. =P
P.S.S. Damn gas is expensive. :(
