View Full Version : OEM 19" vs 18"/17" driving feel

I feel like the first few gears on my g35c w/ oem 19's are a little steep. I was thinking about changing out the final drive, but then I learned that that would cause the cruise control not to work...so now I figure I'm going to just get some smaller wheels, and see if that makes a difference.

Anybody go from 19" to 18 or 17 and notice a difference?

I think some silver nismo 18" lmgt's on my silver coupe would look sick...maybe powdercoat them gunmetal :D

or if I cannot afford those, thinking about just getting some OEM 17's or 18's cheap

Overall, just trying to get the G a little faster. I have not been satisfied with osiris uprev/crawford cats/motordyne plenum/spacer setup so far, and I can't afford a reliable turbo setup

Thinking about smaller wheels with some fat tires and maybe trading that osiris uprev in for a utec and a 100 shot nitrous! Also thinking about a tilton or jwt flywheel!

What do you want this extra "speed" for? Do you drag your car, AutoX, road course, etc..

Also, you should post up an intro thread ;)

posted an intro.

not drag racing/autocross at this point, just looking to make car faster..

car just needs more balls, it handles well enough for now

Are there any nearby road courses besides Atlanta? That sounds fun. I guess I would need a helmet.

they only thing the size of the wheel is gonna do is lighten up your car......just drop in the 3.9 gears with a ATS Carbon LSD.
Here are charts for 6MT and Auto with the 3.9 vs 3.5

6 MT
3.9

3.5

Auto
3.9

3.5

What he said ^^

I had actually thought about the Central 20 final drive for my Z as well. Seems to me, for $500 it will give you what you are looking for.

Check out this thread on my350z also..
