I was just curious if it's going to hurt my performance to replace them with the stock ones. I've already tried to weld it once and it's cracked again. It's throwing a cat failure code and I can see the crack again when I looked at it on a rack today at lunch. I'm trying to decide if I should just replace them with the stock ones or go back with the high flows? I was planning on working on this tonight so please advise soon. Thanks.

I've cracked mine twice as well, seems to be a pretty common problem because of the weight of the exhaust and the angle that the cats have to sit at. I noticed a pretty big decrease going from test pipes back to stock cats and finally went with high flows. Hopefully they'll hold together now because we welded the shit out of them last time.

I'm gonna see what they look like when I get them off. I may try and weld them again and see what happens. I don't really want to suffer a power loss but don't want to drop $300 plus for 5hp either. What kinda of power loss are we talking about?

not much.. i think mostly sound, but i know that ive seen dyno charts of Test pipes vs stock cats and they usually yeild 9-11hp so i would assume about half that for HFCs

Well I was able to reweld it. Last time it was the bottem the broke around the part that mounts to brace off the transmission. This time it was up around the header. Any ideas what is causing this? My thoughts are possible when it's wheel hoping at the drag strip its putting a lot of stress on it?
