removing tree sap

I need help removing pine tree sap on my trunk of my wife's I35.

That's a tough one. I would try to pick it off with your fingernail as much as you can and then maybe 3m rubbing compound with a foam applicator pad. That's about as abrasive as I would go by hand without pulling out a rotary or wetsanding it.
